[livejournal.com profile] smferris got me a heated mattress pad. I can preheat my bed before going to sleep and I don't have to wear socks to keep my feet warm.

Mine is set to 4 now, so that when I get in bed in a bit, it will be okay and I will not lie there shivering for 20 minutes while my body heat warms the bed. So I understand this reaction rather viscerally.

Ours is dual-control. [livejournal.com profile] markgritter's theory is that wading in Lake Superior as a child has had permanent effects on the temperature of my feet. He didn't wade in Lake Superior as a child. Poor mite.

Dude! We got one ages ago, but it was recalled (fire-hazard) about a month after we got it. Never got around to getting another one. Speaking as someone who sleeps next to a chronically cold person, something like that rocks hard.

mmmm, I love mine. I found it at a Goodwill for like $8. Only one side works, but it's the side I sleep on, so...
