The cousin I am closest to brought some family pictures to the hospital today. Most of them look like they were taken prior to 1984.

In nearly every one, my brother is wearing plaid pants - which he pointed out to me using the title quote.

At least there weren't pictures of him in the outfit we found in storage a few years ago. Brick red colored polyester with flared leg pants and a very 70's sport coat. We immediately called it 'the worlds tiniest pimp suit'.

I have a box of family photos that I really should go through, but I fear at what I might find. :)

If I have a male friend who could pull off plaid pants to this very day, it's probably your brother. But only due to his well-developed sense of irony, and I'm really glad he's not trying to be a pioneer on that frontier.

Yeah. He'd probably have a funny hat too.

[livejournal.com profile] timprov came and read over my shoulder, since this isn't locked and I was giggling, and on a quick read he misinterpreted the comment about 1984 as meaning that they were recent but appeared very, very dystopian.

As well they would.

If I had a scanner...

We're going to get a bunch of pictures scanned soon, so I'll have a few to show.
