Going through some items from mom's storage, I re-acquired a book I haven't seen in many years. The book is inscribed in my mother's handwriting To: (me) From: (little brother) on my third birthday. Which means he "got it for me" before he turned one.

The nifty thing about this book, at least when one is three, is that it has a handle.

The little girl in the book starts out simple, she buys jelly beans and a lollipop at the candy store, shoes at the shoe store. (She ALWAYS buys something...) At the bakery? Cookies, a pie AND a chocolate cake.

Toy Store? A ball, a train and a boat. Here I can't fault her, to heck with dolls!

She doesn't carry a purse though, and the bag starts out empty, so I'm not sure how she paid for it all. Actually, considering the list, even if she had a purse I'm not sure how she paid for it all.

I don't remember noticing that the saw she bought at the hardware store is sticking blade first out of the bag for half her trip.

The shopping bag also expands as she shops. Let's Go Shopping or as my sister-in-law referred to it: The Playskool Book of Capitalist Indoctrination.
