I wouldn't have been surprised to see the preceeding quote in a recent blog or op-ed. However, it is from the editor's (Charlott Bronte's) preface to Wuthering Heights (1850 edition) by Emily Bronte.

In mixed news I've had 3 recruiters tell me about the same position in the past week. None of them actually had enough info for me to tell if I would be interested.

I just read about this on Genie Scott's blog. This is seriously awesome. Irony is indeed a cruel mistress.
