Ship's captain Sam Starfall is a larcenous, scavenging, land-squid in an environment suit.
Co-pilot is a robot sidekick named Helix.
Engineer is a bio-engineered wolf-human crossbreed named Florence who keeps hoping the good example she sets will rub off on Sam.

Many of the comics are funny by themselves, but it's a very tightly woven story that started online in 1998. (I lost several hours of time that I should have spent on homework reading them all.)
