In class last night the prof showed us a new tool created by Microsoft Labs. It can take multiple photos of the same place (from any internet source) and put them together in a 3-dimensional representation.

http://labs.live.com/photosynth/videodemo.html is a demo of what it can do, there are a couple other videos showing the team that worked on it.

I am suddenly wondering what it would do with multiple storm chaser shots of the same event from different time points would do....must investigate.

My guess is the result might be awfully nifty... On the other hand, are pictures of clouds on the horizon sufficiently different from one moment to the next that you wouldn't get the same effect as you would with a piece of architecture?

But if you add a date/time stamp to that you could get a 4-D respresentation.
