Booky booky booky
Jul. 26th, 2007 09:13 pmWhile most everyone else was reading DH, I finally got around to reading Wintersmith by Terry Pratchett. At some point I realized that in my head, Tiffany Aching looks like
mrissa. I'm not sure what that means.
It appears I never mentioned "Four Queens: The Provencal Sisters who Ruled Europe" by Nancy Goldstone which I read a few weeks ago and meant to recommend. It's a very readable history of 13th century Europe told by focussing on 4 sisters, the eldest two married the kings of France and England and the younger two married those kings' younger brothers who becamse (somewhat less successfully and that's saying something) the kings of Germany and Sicily. The book is very well written and interesting and I managed not to shout "Don't go on another damn crusade you idiot!" at the king of France. Someone really should have told him that.
